The ceremony began with a report to the commander of the 11th Lubuska Armoured Cavalry Division, Major General Piotr Trytek, delivered by the ceremony commander, Lieutenant Colonel Paweł Jędryczka. The commander of the Black Division, accompanied by the outgoing and incoming commanders, then inspected the subunits of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment.
The ceremony was attended by commanders of the Black Division’s units, local government authorities, commanders of uniformed services and units of the Bolesławiec garrison, as well as former soldiers of the regiment.
23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:
The highlights of the ceremony were the presentation of the 23rd Artillery Regiment’s standard to the “new” commander of the 23rd Artillery Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Krzysztof Malankiewicz, who assumed command of the regiment, as well as the signing, in the presence of the commander of the 11th Lubuska Armoured Cavalry Division, of the protocols for handing over and assuming the duties of regiment commander.
Major General Piotr Trytek on the former commander of the Bolesławiec artillery regiment, Col. Marek Wasielewski: – I can confidently say that your command of the 23rd Artillery Regiment was a period of demonstrating the highest skills and military professionalism.
The commander of the Black Division also thanked the outgoing commander for the results achieved and the training successes during his command of the unit, and wished the new commander success.
At the end, Col. Wasielewski thanked the commander of the Black Division for the “demonstrated principles of command” and the “honour of serving in such an elite tactical formation”.
In his speech, Lieutenant Colonel Krzysztof Malankiewicz referred to inherited traditions, the achievements of previous commanders and teachers of the artillery profession, and assured those present that he would continue the work of his predecessors.
The ceremony concluded with a parade of the subunits accompanied by the Wrocław Military Orchestra.
