The Panas Ślęża Half Marathon in Sobótka near Wrocław is one of the most difficult, but also one of the most scenically attractive half marathons in the country. The race route is not easy—it could be described as almost mountainous—and the most difficult section is the uphill stretch to Przełęcz Tąpadła, located between the seventh and ninth kilometers (a 2.1-kilometer climb with an elevation gain of 110 m).
The route ran at the foot of Mount Ślęża. More than 1,750 competitors took part in the race. The distance was 21.1 kilometers, and the route featured varied elevations—the difference between the lowest and highest points was approximately 200 m. In addition, very troublesome winds and warm weather for that day all worked against the runners. Despite this, representatives of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade performed excellently:
- Senior Private Dawid Hartleb completed the route in 1:17:09, taking 11th place in the open category (Ślęża Half Marathon) and 1st place in the men’s under-34 category (Championships of the General Jakub Jasiński Engineering and Chemical Forces Training Center).
- Platoon Commander Jarosław Druciarek finished the race in 1:22:44, taking 24th place in the open category (Ślęża Half Marathon) and 1st place in the men’s over-35 category (Championships of the General Jakub Jasiński Engineering and Chemical Forces Training Center).
