The municipal pond in Bolesławiec. This beautiful place, home to fish, ducks and swans, is being littered. Both Bolesławiec residents and visitors to our city walk and relax around the pond. Unfortunately, even this place cannot remain clean. Plastic bags, bottles, cans and other rubbish are thrown into the pond. On Saturday, a ball was also floating there. In addition, we noticed that the water (on the surface) on the side of Kubika Street had been contaminated with something. Someone probably threw containers that had held a petroleum-based substance into the pond.

Pieces of bread, which should not be used to feed birds, also often float in the pond. Bread is harmful to these animals’ digestive systems. However, if someone insists on feeding them, it is best to use food from the nearby duck food dispenser. Healthy food for birds includes cereal grains, cereal flakes or bran. As for swans, they can also be fed finely chopped vegetables. The vegetables may be cooked, but they should not be salted.
