Police officers from Nowogrodziec detained an intoxicated TIR driver after other motorists took the man’s ignition keys. – When the officers arrived at the scene, they established that the 61-year-old had left the motorway and, while attempting to park the truck combination, first hit a concrete wall and then a parked truck – reports asp. szt. She adds:

The other drivers reacted immediately: the ignition keys were taken and the police were notified.

The Lithuanian man had nearly 1.4 per mille of alcohol in his system. The foreign national was brought before the court under an expedited procedure, where he received the following sentence:

  • a 3-year driving ban,
  • a payment of PLN 5,000 to the Fund for Assistance to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.
