As a result, 20 trains will run to Zgorzelec, and thanks to cooperation with the German side, they will be connected to services towards Dresden and Berlin.
At the same time, intensive efforts are under way to obtain permission for direct trains from Wrocław to enter Goerlitz, in order to meet the expectations of Ukrainian citizens and ease the situation at the Wrocław transport hub.
In addition, Koleje Dolnośląskie will launch an additional daily service in cooperation with a German railway operator on the Wrocław–Berlin route, intended exclusively for refugees from Ukraine. Work is under way to extend the route of these trains from Kraków.
As the regional government, together with our carrier—Koleje Dolnośląskie—we are helping Ukrainian citizens, who can travel free of charge on KD trains throughout Lower Silesia. We have also completed two journeys by the Koleje Dolnośląskie Humanitarian Train. We transported more than one thousand people from the Polish-Ukrainian border. The third humanitarian train reached Przemyśl on Thursday, 10 March, and returned to Wrocław the same day. It brought more than 500 people.
