The timetable adjustment will apply from this Sunday, 13 March, until 11 June. PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., together with the carriers, have arranged the connections to make the best use of the railway lines’ capacity and provide contractors with conditions to continue their work. Investments under the National Railway Programme are increasing the attractiveness, accessibility and competitiveness of rail travel on long-distance, regional and agglomeration connections.

Better transport services in Małopolska

Residents of Skawina will gain new travel options for getting to work and school. Fast Agglomeration Railway trains will stop at Skawina Zachodnia halt and Podbory Skawińskie station. This is another result of work by Polskie Linie Kolejowe on the route from the capital of Małopolska to Podbory Skawińskie. On this route, the train is an unrivalled means of transport. It takes about 25 minutes to travel from Skawina to central Kraków.

There will be a new direct connection from Kraków to Olkusz. Trains will run on the modernised Kraków–Katowice route via Jaworzno Szczakowa. The journey by train will take slightly more than an hour.

New stop in Warka

From Sunday, trains on the Warsaw–Radom route will stop at the new Warka Miasto halt. Additional access to the railway will make daily journeys to school and work easier, among other things. Twenty-two train pairs are planned per day.

Warszawa Zachodnia – the third new platform already

At Warszawa Zachodnia station, passengers will use another new platform. Platforms 6 and 7, which have already been modernised, will be joined by platform 8. As on the platforms already rebuilt, access to the trains will be provided under a new, wide canopy. Two sheltered “waiting areas” have been installed. Lighting, benches, signage, information boards and timetable cases have also been installed.

Extensive investment programme – transport arrangements prepared for the duration of the works

In the Warmian–Masurian Voivodeship, Polskie Linie Kolejowe are beginning the first stage of the modernisation and electrification of the Ełk–Korsze line. The extensive works on the Ełk–Giżycko section require changes to traffic management on the single-track line. Some PKP Intercity trains will run via a diverted route, the Olsztyn–Szczytno–Ełk line (lk219), previously renovated by PLK.

In the Silesian Voivodeship, a PLN 1.2 billion investment is beginning on the Chorzów Batory–Bytom–Nakło Śląskie line. Construction is starting between Chorzów Batory and Chorzów Stary. Replacement bus services will operate instead of regional trains on the Katowice–Tarnowskie Góry section.

The reconstruction of Ożarów Mazowiecki station requires changes to traffic management. During the construction works, PKP Intercity trains will not run via Sochaczew but along an alternative route via Skierniewice and Żyrardów.

In Greater Poland, reconstruction of the line between Poznań and Wolsztyn will begin on Sunday. The works will provide smoother and more comfortable journeys to Poznań, while residents will gain better access to the railway. The scope of the work on the single-track line requires changes to transport services: replacement bus services will operate instead of regional trains on the Grodzisk Wielkopolski–Wolsztyn section.

In Podkarpacie, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. are continuing work as part of the construction of the Suburban Agglomeration Railway. This includes continued work on the construction of the new Rzeszów Dworzysko halt on the route from Rzeszów to Dębica. PLK will also begin construction of the new Sędziszów Małopolski Wschodni halt. Due to the works, replacement bus services will be introduced from Sunday for 13 PKA trains on the Rzeszów Główny–Sędziszów Małopolski section (lk 91).
