Thursday (3 March) greeted drivers in Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County with a major increase in fuel prices. At stations in Bolesławiec, fuel became more than 30 groszy more expensive. On Wednesday (2 March), a litre of 95-octane petrol could be bought for PLN 5.88. On Thursday, at PKN Orlen stations in Bolesławiec, the price was already PLN 6.20. Meanwhile, diesel cost PLN 6.50.
The war between Russia and Ukraine is certainly influencing the increases. Commodity prices on the exchanges are rising, and the dollar is becoming more expensive. A barrel of crude oil now costs 115 dollars, whereas at the end of February it cost 92 dollars. Meanwhile, one dollar costs PLN 4.33 today, compared with PLN 3.99 on 23 February.
