In mid-February, the NFZ published an announcement about a competition for contracts to provide healthcare services in the field of Outpatient Specialist Care. The examinations in question are computed tomography scans and magnetic resonance imaging scans. Bolesławiec County is among the areas listed in the competition.
In our region, only the hospital on Jeleniogórska Street in Bolesławiec has the necessary equipment (it has a CT scanner and an MRI machine) and contracts with diagnostic physicians.
“I estimate that examinations will be available in April. The procedure is quite formalised, and it also depends on how many offers are submitted,” says Kamil Barczyk, director of the Bolesławiec hospital.
The deadline for submitting offers is 1 March. We hope that in late spring or summer it will finally be possible to come with a referral from a doctor and have a CT scan or MRI scan free of charge. Until now, only hospital patients have been able to use these examinations free of charge. Everyone else has had to pay.
