The incident occurred during the night of February 16–17 in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. At around 4:00 a.m., Mr Emil heard only an impact. When he went downstairs, it was already… no longer windy.
The fact that the weather briefly calmed down was of no significance, however, because Storm Dudley had already managed to tear off virtually half of the roof.
Mrs Krystyna in turn says that during the night, terrified, she jumped out of bed. She immediately asked her son to call the fire service.
Even more alarming is the fact that Mr Emil had renovated the roof… in November last year. The wind had also torn off part of the roof in October, although it was a different section. The resident of Tomaszów wonders whether his family is under some kind of curse.
(Mrs Krystyna adds that it was also extremely windy in October, but not as much as now).
