The tragedy occurred on Sunday, 6 February, at a railway crossing on Bolesławiecka Street in Pieńsk (Zgorzelec County). As reported by zinfo.pl:
An elderly man entered the crossing, which was closed and had a red light showing, was struck by an approaching freight train and died at the scene.
The police and prosecutor’s office are determining the causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
