The incident took place on Sunday, January 30, on the road between Czerna and Zebrzydowa. At around 2:20 p.m., the driver of a Mercedes, a 27-year-old German national, failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions, left the roadway on a bend and drove onto the parking area in front of the cemetery, where he hit a parked Kia. (Fortunately, no one was inside.) He then rammed the cemetery fence, damaging it.
The German did not have a driving licence. Moreover, as the officers suspected that the driver might have been under the influence of a narcotic substance, the man's blood was taken for testing.
The 27-year-old suffered no serious injuries.
