The program applies to all animals, particularly dogs and cats (including free-roaming animals), as well as farm animals staying within Bolesławiec. The provision of shelter for homeless animals on behalf of Bolesławiec is carried out by the “KWISA” Association of Municipalities Shelter for Homeless Small Animals, Przylasek 18, 59-816 Platerówka.
Who will care for homeless cats?
Care for free-roaming cats from Bolesławiec is entrusted to associations whose statutory aim is animal protection. In 2022, the public task “Ecology and animal protection, as well as protection of natural heritage – improving the living conditions of free-roaming animals (particularly cats) in the Bolesławiec Municipality” will be carried out by Stowarzyszenie Pomocy Zwierzętom w Bolesławcu.
Care for free-roaming cats includes:
- feeding,
- reducing the population through sterilization and neutering,
- treatment when necessary,
- conducting information and educational activities.
Who will provide round-the-clock veterinary care?
Bolesławiec will provide round-the-clock veterinary care in the event of road accidents involving animals. In 2022, care in the event of road accidents will be provided by the veterinary clinic: Przychodnia Weterynaryjna “ALWET” Monika Janiec, ul. Młyńska 36, Nowogrodziec.
How much money has been earmarked for this purpose?
PLN 465,000, including:
- improving the living conditions of free-roaming animals (particularly cats) in Bolesławiec – PLN 50,000;
- medical and veterinary care for homeless animals (particularly providing round-the-clock veterinary care in cases of road accidents involving animals), care for wild animals and other animal-related activities (including the purchase of services) – PLN 145,000;
- payments to the “Kwisa” Association of Municipalities for the operation of the Small Animal Shelter in the Lubań Great Forest, Platerówka Municipality – PLN 270,000.
