During the next session of the Bolesławiec County Council, councillors will be presented with a report by the County Police Commander on the state of safety and public order in Bolesławiec County in 2021.

The document shows that last year, compared with 2020, the number of general crimes increased (by 85; from 2,553 to 2,638). Encouragingly, the number of criminal offences fell by as many as 57 cases (1,888 in 2020 and 1,831 in 2021). The detection rate for both types of crime also improved compared with 2020.

County Police Headquarters:

The decrease in the number of criminal offences and offences from the seven basic categories in 2021 was contributed to by planned police activities, including deploying additional operational patrols at night and assigning officers from the Independent Police Subunit in Legnica to serve in the county. Patrols were also deployed in the areas most at risk. As part of priority programmes, community police officers conducted intensified operations to limit crimes and offences in the most critical locations within their assigned areas.

It should be emphasised that, despite additional activities related to COVID-19, the officers’ commitment led to an increase in the effectiveness of detecting crime perpetrators.
