The New Year’s Concert performed by the students of Marek Łętowski from the MDK vocal workshop was an event at the beginning of 2022. Young female vocalists from the two INIEMAMOCNE groups (juniors and seniors) prepared well-known songs by outstanding Polish performers and authors: Majka Jeżowska, Seweryn Krajewski, Jeremi Przybora, Jacek Cygan, and the Skaldowie band. A cover sung in Polish also sounded beautiful: “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” known from the repertoires of Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé.
Four songs were performed with the evening’s jazz star, Patrycjusz Gruszecki – winner of the 2017 JazzPRESS and RadioJAZZ.FM poll in the categories of jazz album of the year and Polish jazz performer of the year: “Na całej połaci śnieg,” “Tak jak śnieg,” “Gloria,” and the song that was voted RMFfm’s most beautiful Christmas song for five years: “Dzień jeden w roku” by Seweryn Krajewski and Krzysztof Dzikowski, from 1966.
The INIEMAMOCNE groups, prepared by vocal coach Marek Łętowski, delivered an excellent performance and put on a great concert with good arrangements, good stage design (including congratulations on the excellent costumes), and very good choreography. The girls gave it their all, and the bar had been set high. The vocalists were accompanied by a band led by Dariusz Jaros, comprising: Michał Polak (drums), Bartłomiej Pietsch (bass), Mateusz Głuszak (guitar), Jarosław Woszczyna (saxophone), Dawid Główczewski (saxophone), Ireneusz Lutz (violin), and Dariusz Jaros (keyboards).
The New Year’s Concert was hosted by the evening’s host, MDK director Dariusz Uściński, together with presenter Kacper Champlewski.
