The incident occurred on Saturday, January 8, in the afternoon, in the town of Trzebień. The driver, a 47-year-old Ukrainian citizen, lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and ended up in a ditch.
As officers from KPP Bolesławiec report:
A resident of Polkowice County witnessed the driver traveling ahead of him driving across the entire width of the road and then entering a roadside ditch. The reporting party prevented the drunk man from driving any farther by taking away his keys.
It turned out that the foreign national was completely drunk; he had 2.7 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The foreign national, who is temporarily staying in Gdańsk and was trying to get there, was detained. He was also charged. He now faces up to two years behind bars.
