Uniformed officers from the Volunteer Fire Department in Nowogrodziec:
Last year, we took part in 171 rescue and firefighting operations. This is the highest number of interventions among the volunteer fire departments in Bolesławiec County.
Of these, 60 were fires and 102 were local hazards. Fortunately, there were relatively few false alarms – 9.
It is worth noting that the firefighters intervened outside their home municipality as many as 47 times, and 4 times outside our county.
The firefighters add:
We managed to:
- purchase two breathing apparatuses;
- purchase two specialist protective suits;
- purchase two lanyards for securing work at height;
- acquire an industrial washing machine and dryer for specialist clothing;
- equip our building with internet access thanks to the Municipal Office;
- renovate the storage rooms;
- obtain 20 firefighter helmets from PSP Bolesławiec;
- acquire a new chainsaw for wood […].
Moreover, the uniformed officers took part in ceremonies such as celebrations of National Independence Day, Firefighters’ Day, the Nowogrodziec carol service and the finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
As they themselves emphasize:
Every Saturday, our firefighters run and maintain the equipment so that it never fails during operations.
They also point out:
A new rescue and firefighting vehicle is our priority for this year.
We know the unit’s most active firefighters
Here are their names:
- Kamil Malinowski – 93 interventions,
- Kamil Krzyśko – 93,
- Mirosław Gajewski – 89,
- Rafał Fajkowski – 72,
- Dawid Chmielowiec – 65,
- Andrzej Rutyna – 44.
Fortunately, none of the uniformed officers from Nowogrodziec was injured during last year’s operations. The firefighters say: “Let us hope that we will also have no shortage of safety this year.”
They also appeal:
We encourage you to donate 1% of your tax to our OSP so that all the activities we undertake can be even more efficient and safer.
