The incident occurred on Friday, March 19, in the Nowogrodziec municipality. At around 7:00 a.m., police officers from Bolesławiec, who were conducting the “Seat Belts” operation, stopped a minibus for a roadside check. Its driver turned out to be a 55-year-old man employed by one of the associations bringing together people with disabilities.
There were three passengers in the minibus. The 55-year-old was not wearing a seat belt. Officers detected the smell of alcohol on his breath. The man had almost 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. In that condition, he was transporting people with disabilities to Bolesławiec.
He now faces up to two years in prison.
