At the beginning of December, a reader contacted the editorial office asking about the purpose of the street lamps shining in an area where a housing estate of detached houses is only planned to be built. The reader also attached several photos from the area of Ptasia Street in Bolesławiec. The matter was described on the istotne.pl portal.
In mid-December, a female reader wrote to the editorial office, claiming in turn that the issue raised by the reader concerning the street lamps shining in the area amounted to looking for a problem where there isn't one and that, after the publication, the street lamps were switched off, while the residents of Osiedle Kwiatowe were happy to use both the newly built road and the light from those lamps.
Reader:
On behalf of myself and the residents of Osiedle Kwiatowe, we ask why someone is looking for a problem where there isn't one in connection with the newly built road being lit in the vicinity of Ptasia Street. I would add that this area is used very frequently by us residents. It is our refuge for walks with our families; elderly people, including people with disabilities, go out every day, children ride their bicycles and roller skates, and we go out with our dogs several times a day, regardless of the weather or time. Since the city has made such a great investment for us, for which we are very grateful and pleased.
Why, I ask, does it bother someone, and why did writing about this subject last week result in the lamps being switched off? We also have the right to live a dignified and safe life. I would also like to ask why the reader did not mention that, besides the lamps being lit, as they described it in the field, there are also people walking around, because there is always someone somewhere. Are we supposed to walk around with torches on our foreheads? I ask. The CITY HALL had them installed for us to use, didn't it? Please respond.
Residents.
And what do our readers think about this? Should the street lamps in the area of Ptasia Street continue to illuminate the road by the planned housing estate? We encourage you to vote in the poll.
