Key changes – new limits, closed discos and remote learning
New limits on the number of people
From December 15, limits on the number of people will be tightened:
- public transport – max. 75% occupancy
- restaurants, bars and hotels – max. 30% occupancy for unvaccinated people (the limit may be increased only for vaccinated people verified by the business operator using a COVID-19 certificate)
- cinemas, theaters, sports and religious facilities – max. 30% occupancy for unvaccinated people (the limit may be increased only for vaccinated people verified using a COVID-19 certificate)
Additionally, eating and drinking will be prohibited in cinemas during screenings.
Remote learning
- From December 20, 2021, to January 9, 2022, all primary and secondary school students will study remotely.
- Nurseries and preschools will operate without changes.
Clubs and discos closed
From December 15 until further notice, clubs, discos and other venues made available for dancing will be closed. The exception will be New Year's Eve (December 31–January 1). On that night, events may be held under strict sanitary restrictions – max. 100 people (the limit does not apply to people who have a COVID-19 certificate).
Mandatory coronavirus tests
From December 15, anyone arriving in Poland from outside the Schengen Area will have to take a COVID-19 test before arrival. The test should be taken no earlier than 24 hours before departure. Importantly, vaccination does not exempt anyone from the testing requirement.
From December 15, mandatory testing will also apply to people living with someone infected with COVID-19. In this situation, vaccination will also not exempt anyone from the testing requirement.
Get vaccinated – protect yourself and your loved ones!
An increased number of infections means a greater risk of becoming ill. Vaccination is the most effective way to strengthen your immunity – it helps you avoid contracting COVID-19 or go through coronavirus infection mildly.
Especially during the autumn and winter season, when our immunity may be weakened, it is worth taking the opportunity to strengthen it. It is also a way to look after your parents and grandparents, who, because of their age or underlying conditions, may experience coronavirus infection much more severely if infected.
Have you received two doses? Also get a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose! People over 50 can do so five months after vaccination. Other people can do so six months after receiving the full vaccine dose.
