On Sunday, during the late morning hours, firefighters were called to a flooded basement at a property in Iwiny. There would be nothing unusual about this, were it not for the fact that this time the flooding was not caused by, for example, heavy rainfall.

The culprits turned out to be… beavers, which had built a dam on the Bobrzyca River (appropriately enough), and the water began spreading onto, among other areas, the surrounding meadows.

The matter is to be reported to the river’s administrator, namely the State Water Holding Polish Waters.
