On the night of November 17–18, two collisions occurred in our county. First, at around 2:00 a.m., the driver of a Volkswagen, a 34-year-old Ukrainian citizen, fell asleep at the wheel and veered into a ditch. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured. The man was cautioned.

The second collision took place at around 4:40 a.m. on road no. 94, also in the vicinity of Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. The driver of a Renault, a 27-year-old from Ukraine, hit a pedestrian, a 37-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. According to the officers’ findings, the pedestrian was responsible for the collision because, firstly, he was walking on the wrong side of the road, outside a built-up area (in an unlit location), and secondly, he was not wearing reflective elements.

The 37-year-old, who suffered an arm injury, was taken to the ER. He was also fined PLN 500.
