The incident occurred on November 6, after 3 p.m., in the area of Bema Street in Lubin. A woman ran up to a preventive patrol, asking for help. She was in shock—shaking and in tears. – She informed the officers that her son, while in his grandmother’s care, had put his hand into a nettle chaff cutter, as a result of which one of the fingers on his right hand was severed – reports junior assistant Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – According to the information provided by the woman from Lubin, the child was immediately given medical assistance at the municipal hospital in Lubin, where his wound was dressed, and was then referred to the Regional Specialist Hospital in Legnica. However, the 29-year-old woman could not drive the car herself because of her emotional state.

Realizing that every second counted, the police activated the emergency signals in their patrol car and transported the four-year-old and his mother to the hospital. During the journey, the dispatcher informed the medical team in Legnica about the entire situation.

The doctors, prepared for the arrival of the young patient, immediately took the child from the preventive patrol. The spokeswoman adds:
According to information obtained by the officers, the boy’s finger was saved. He and his mother remained under observation at the hospital.
