The incident took place on October 25. – Police officers from the Traffic Division of the Zgorzelec police, operating as part of the SPEED group, measured the speed of a driver travelling on the A4 motorway in Bolesławiec County who had significantly exceeded the speed limit. According to the measurement, the driver was travelling at 186 km/h on a section where the speed limit is 110 km/h – explains Staff Sergeant Aleksander Litwin from the Zgorzelec District Police Headquarters.

The officers stopped the driver for inspection. The speeder turned out to be a 67-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, who was informed that he would receive a PLN 500 fine and 10 penalty points.

Spokesperson:

During the inspection, the man offered the officers money so that they would discontinue further official actions and, as he put it, “the matter would stay between us.” The officers secured the banknotes, which the driver placed on one of their notebooks, and took the detainee to the Bolesławiec police station.

The 67-year-old now faces up to 8 years in prison.
