Friday's ceremony was opened by Wiesława Olczyk, spiritus movens of the Bolesławiec institution:
Today we are celebrating the International Day of Older Persons, so from the bottom of my heart I wish seniors good health, physical activity and sunny days. May the coming time give us the desire to create and to live healthy, active lives.
And she added:
We all realize that physical activity is the foundation of a healthy and joyful life, and movement is a biological need of every human being. The pandemic significantly weakened interpersonal bonds, whose existence is essential to human well-being, particularly in later adulthood.
Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman addressed the UTW students: “Other generations, less mature, should learn from you and follow your example when it comes to optimism.”
And he noted: “Let us hope that the threat of further waves will not affect us so severely. Let us remember: a healthy mind in a healthy body.”
Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec County executive:
Dear female students, dear male students. I am very pleased that so many of you came to the start of the academic year. This march shows that the nation has strength and that nothing is wrong with you. I hope this condition continues.
The plenipotentiary of the rector of the Wrocław University of Economics, dr hab. Artur Zaborski:
I wish you good health. And may this entire academic year no longer be interrupted, as it has been recently. May you be able to enjoy all the classes that I know you are eagerly awaiting.
Paweł DulPaweł Dul wished all the Spartakiad participants the best possible results and stressed that the event would not have succeeded without Wiesława Olczyk.
It is worth adding that the Bolesławiec event was supported by the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, which allocated PLN 6,000 for this purpose.
