Bolesławiec police are warning about door-to-door scammers. Criminals most often target elderly people and those living alone. Knocking on doors, the perpetrators usually introduce themselves as salespeople, but also as employees of various institutions or foundations. Once allowed into a home, they try to distract the resident and steal money and other valuable items. Police are appealing for caution and vigilance when dealing with strangers, and urging residents not to let unknown people into their homes.
Police ask people to report suspicious situations or unknown individuals who arouse doubts by calling 997 or 112.
