September and October are the months when there are the most mushrooms in the forests. It is no different in the forests near Bolesławiec. A porcini (Boletus edulis) boom is underway. Unfortunately, most of them are worm-eaten.

According to mushroom pickers, the forests also contain plenty of bay boletes, cauliflower mushrooms (hen of the woods), chanterelles, parasol mushrooms, slippery jacks and birch boletes.

Let us remember that if we are not 100% certain whether a particular mushroom is edible, it is better to leave it. We also do not recommend picking very young fruiting bodies. Undeveloped fruiting bodies can easily be mistaken for poisonous species.
