The incident occurred at night, at around 11 p.m., in the center of Złotoryja. “The 58-year-old resident of the apartment block, while intoxicated, threw various objects from the windows of his apartment. These included vases, plates and jars,” reports Staff Sergeant Dominika Kwakszys, press officer for the Złotoryja District Police Headquarters.
She adds:
The objects landed on the sidewalk and the road. Some of them hit vehicles parked there.
In this way, the vandal damaged four cars, mainly denting the paintwork and smashing the headlights. Unfortunately, he broke the rear window of one vehicle. Fortunately, however, the vandal did not hit any pedestrians.
The spokeswoman said: “The police officers who intervened found both witnesses to the incident and the perpetrator himself at the scene. After establishing the circumstances, they decided to arrest the 58-year-old. He was completely drunk. A breathalyzer test showed 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.”
It is not known why the man decided to have such fun at night. He was unable to give the officers a sensible explanation. The troublemaker now faces up to five years in prison.
