Fuel prices fell almost at the same time as the new Grupa Lotos station began operating. Immediately after its opening, PKN Orlen lowered its prices, and, as usual, the rest followed suit. In the following days, prices at the Lotos station were lowered again. Orlen also reduced its prices to the same level.
It is not known whether Lotos's price reductions are merely temporary measures intended to attract customers, or whether they reflect a long-term market acquisition strategy. As the manager of the Lotos station told Boleslawiec.org, fuel prices there will always be a few groszy lower.
Today, the price of a litre of unleaded 95 petrol at the Grupa Lotos station was PLN 3.54, while diesel cost PLN 3.35. The price was the same at the Shell station. Higher prices were offered at PKN Orlen, BP and Preem stations. Petrol was sold there for PLN 3.59 and diesel for PLN 3.39.
