On August 1, 1944, at 5:00 p.m.—the symbolic “W Hour”—the Warsaw Uprising began. In Bolesławiec, the 77th anniversary of this national event was commemorated in the traditional manner, by the defensive walls, at the site where the symbol of Fighting Poland stands. The sirens sounded precisely at 5:00 p.m. Then, the people gathered in front of the anchor listened to the national anthem. A roll call of the fallen was also held. The ceremony concluded with the laying of bouquets beneath the sign of Fighting Poland.

The city and county authorities, soldiers, scouts, supporters of Zagłębie Lubin (who prepared the display—the video is below), and all those who remember the Poles who fought and gave their lives battling the German occupier for a free homeland took part in the ceremony. Honor and glory to the heroes.

Firefighters from KP PSP Bolesławiec also commemorated the memory of the Warsaw Insurgents in front of their headquarters.
