The incident took place on Monday, 26 July. Volunteer firefighters from Nowogrodziec:
[...] before 11 a.m., we were dispatched to evacuate workers from the basket of a hydraulic lift—as a result of a malfunction (the basket could not be lowered to the ground) in Nowogrodziec.
The firefighters add:
The firefighters’ actions consisted of securing the scene and evacuating the people using a mechanical ladder.
The operation, involving firefighters from Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec, lasted just under an hour.
