Horse became stuck in peat ground

The animal, which was on a pasture, entered the ditch, but the soft, peaty ground caused the horse to become stuck in mud nearly halfway up its body. It was unable to escape the trap on its own.

The situation was serious. The horse was gradually growing weaker, while being partially submerged posed an additional threat to its life. A rescue operation had to be carried out in difficult, waterlogged terrain.

Several hours of a difficult rescue operation

Firefighters struggled with challenging conditions for several hours.

The soft ground made the operation more difficult, and the rescuers had to get the animal out of the muddy ditch.

Ultimately, the operation was successful. The horse was pulled out of the trap and then placed in the care of a veterinarian and its owner.

Thanks to the firefighters’ commitment and determination, the animal was saved; it had no chance of escaping the soft ground on its own.

The operation involved firefighters from the Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Polkowice and the Volunteer Fire Service in Przemków.
