Balkan dishes at Balkan Grill&Pizzeria Marceli
Balkan cuisine is a term describing dishes from, among other places, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria and Greece. The new menu will therefore feature dishes from these regions, including ćevapčići and pljeskavica. Ćevapčići are elongated grilled patties made from minced beef or mutton, seasoned with garlic, hot pepper and pepper. Pljeskavica, Serbia’s national dish, is a patty made from a mixture of minced meats—mainly lamb, beef and pork—served as a grilled burger, for example with onion.
A characteristic accompaniment from this region, especially for grilled dishes, is ajvar paste, prepared from sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, tomatoes and garlic.
The new menu at Balkan Grill & Pizzeria Marceli will also include such specialities as Serbian-style trout, Balkan goulash soup, chicken fillet marinated in herbs and yoghurt, Serbian grilled sausages, and a Balkan burger with pljeskavica and vegetables. Those who prefer lighter cuisine will also find a traditional Balkan šopska salad and Greek salad. Grilled dishes are served with marinated onion, ajvar paste and roasted potatoes.
