155 mm Krab howitzers were delivered to the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec at the end of last year. Meanwhile, at the end of June, 150 soldiers from Bolesławiec trained with the new equipment at the Żagań training ground.
During the training, in addition to firing live ammunition, a competition for the title of artillery fire master was also held. The winner was Second Lieutenant Kacper Grejć, platoon commander from the 3rd Rocket Artillery Squadron.
As we read on the website of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment:
The so-called tactical loop tests more than just artillery skills. In addition to demonstrating their knowledge of operating the guns, soldiers must prove that they can shoot accurately with individual weapons and know the rules for behaving in a contaminated area and during an air attack. The summer heat did not make the artillerymen’s task any easier. Among other things, they had to carry out engineering and sapper work, move through the terrain using a map and compass, and provide medical assistance to the injured.
