The first task was to carry out work on the heating plant chimney and inspect the heating plant control system, which required the boilers to be shut down. Together with the largest users of domestic hot water, namely the Housing Cooperative, Managers of Housing Communities and workplaces, a shutdown date of 4–5 June 2021 was agreed. During the works, it turned out that the agreed completion time could be shortened. Thanks to the employees of Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej in the technical division, who have high-level specialist qualifications and extensive experience, it was possible to shut down the heat source, carry out the necessary work and resume the supply of domestic hot water to our homes and workplaces on the same day.
“Nevertheless, despite such a short interruption in the supply of hot water, we apologize to our Customers for any inconvenience and thank them for their understanding,” says ZEC president Jarosław Kowalski.
Another task beyond standard renovations, which the Company has already begun, is the replacement of two coal baskets in the boilers. This task requires more work, but it will not affect
the continuity of domestic hot-water supplies to our Customers.
Coal baskets are boiler components of very large dimensions, normally ordered from the manufacturer together with installation, and their cost could exceed several hundred thousand zlotys. Thanks to the Company employees’ high level of expertise, the task will be completed “using our own resources,” which will result in considerable savings. More durable materials than those used for standard coal baskets ordered from the manufacturer will also be used for the renovation.
The modernization of the above-ground district heating network located on Wróblewskiego Street is also planned for next year.
Zakład Energetyki Cieplnej sincerely thanks its customers for their cooperation during the past heating season and for providing all the information that helped us in the Company’s operations.
