A female reader wrote to us via Facebook:
I am writing about this matter because perhaps it needs to be publicized. It is possible that many people from the area of Zygmunta Augusta, Cicha or Parkowa streets recognize the man who accosts people and shouts insults at the police, especially at night, etc. There was a lot of talk about him about a year ago, but he most likely was later in prison and there was peace. But he is back! And for the past several days he has been putting on such a display that it is frightening to go outside. Today [w niedzielę, 16 maja – przyp. red.] he accosted children in the park by the police station, shouting at the girls that they were “cuties” and other things of that kind. He approached them, and after a while they ran away from him, frightened...
How the man reportedly operates:
He enters the high-rise building right next to the police station, runs around the stairwell and screams out of the windows at night. He used to live here, but now stays elsewhere; he nevertheless knows the intercom code. Yesterday [w sobotę, 15 maja] after calling the police to say that I was alone and simply afraid, I was told to lock the doors and not go outside, because they had already received a report from someone else and, if a patrol became available, they might come. No one came, however. Probably because the guy is already well known to the police and they do not want to deal with him.
“I confirm that on 15 May we received a report concerning a man shouting through a window (this was the only intervention involving this man on Parkowa Street recently). When the police officers arrived at the scene, everything was quiet and calm. No one was found in the stairwell,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.
She adds:
The person referred to in the report is known to police officers. The man left prison in May and currently lives in Bolesławiec. Recently, police officers have intervened several times in matters involving him. The neighborhood officer is cooperating with the man’s probation officer and has contacted the housing cooperative to change the intercom code assigned to the apartment on Parkowa Street where the man previously lived.
