Who can serve in the Police?
You are an ideal candidate for service in the Police if you:
- Have at least a secondary education.
- Have the physical and mental capacity to serve in armed formations subject to special official discipline, which you are prepared to follow.
- Provide assurance that you will maintain confidentiality in accordance with the requirements set out in classified-information protection regulations.
- Have a regulated military-service status—in the case of persons subject to military qualification. A police officer’s service relationship is established by appointment following a voluntary application for service. Appointment may take place after completion of basic military service or transfer to the reserve. This means that a person unfit for active military service in peacetime (category “D”) who is also a reserve soldier meets these conditions. Therefore, having health category “D” does not disqualify a candidate applying to join the Police.
- Have Polish citizenship. Holding dual citizenship does not disqualify a candidate during the recruitment process.
- Have an impeccable reputation.
- Have not been convicted by a final court judgment of a crime or a fiscal offence.
- Enjoy full public rights.
