According to experts, too few people are still vaccinated, although the pace of vaccinations has increased recently.

As we read on the Radio Zet website:

A small number of vaccinated people and the easing of restrictions – according to experts, this could be a recipe for a fourth wave of the coronavirus.

Dr. Paweł Grzesiowski, an expert with the Supreme Medical Council’s COVID-19 team, said in an interview with ''Wyborcza'':

– So far, just over 20% of Poland’s population has received the first dose. Still 40% of people aged 60+ are unvaccinated. How many of them will still get vaccinated? This is a crucial question, because it is precisely such groups of unvaccinated people that are the source of subsequent epidemic waves – Dr. Grzesiowski warned.

Later in the interview, Dr. Grzesiowski warned of a fourth wave of the coronavirus, which may appear in autumn. Greater social mobility, returns to offices and returns to schools, combined with an insufficient number of vaccinations, are factors that may affect the scale of the next epidemic wave.

Experts encourage people to get vaccinated.
