KPP Bolesławiec:
Police officers from Bolesławiec County received a report that unexploded ordnance had been found in Osiecznica. Due to the size of the object found, the commander of the Bomb Disposal Patrol decided that residents within a radius of 200 metres had to be evacuated. The police guarded the site where the unexploded ordnance had been found throughout the night so that no bystanders could approach the dangerous object.
The officers added:
In the morning of 7 May, thanks to cooperation between Crisis Management of Osiecznica Municipality, OSP Osiecznica, PSP Bolesławiec and police officers from Nowogrodziec and Bolesławiec, 75 people were evacuated. The Bomb Disposal Patrol of the Bolesławiec military unit then removed the unexploded ordnance.
To recap, the incident occurred on Friday, 7 May. As reported by volunteer firefighters from Osiecznica:
[…] at 9:00 a.m., the evacuation of some residents of our town was ordered. The reason was the discovery of unexploded ordnance. The place designated by the Mayor of Osiecznica Municipality for evacuated residents was GOSiR and ZS in Osiecznica.
The firefighters added:
At 10:05 a.m., the bomb-disposal specialists secured the projectile, and the evacuated residents were able to return safely to their homes.
Fortunately, no one was injured. The operation involved officers from JRG Bolesławiec, OSP KSRG Osiecznica, the police (4 patrols) and the Bolesławiec Bomb Disposal Patrol.
