Despite the prohibitions and applicable penalties, the residents of Bolesławiec continue to litter our city.

On March 11, 2021, municipal police officers went to Opitza Street, where, according to a report, an unknown perpetrator had dumped construction waste and rubble beneath a waste-container enclosure. As a result of official investigations, the person responsible for littering the area was identified, fined and required to remove the contamination, which they did immediately.

On March 12, 2021, municipal police officers carried out official activities in connection with a large quantity of cardboard littered around the waste-container enclosure on Zgorzelecka Street. During the investigation, the perpetrator of the offense was identified. The irresponsible resident of Bolesławiec was also fined and simultaneously ordered to clean up the accumulated cardboard, which they did immediately.

Several days later, on March 15, 2021, the duty officer received a report that large quantities of rubble had been stored beside one of the waste-container enclosures on Prusa Street. The patrol sent to the location confirmed the report—in several dozen bags there was rubble. As a result of the actions taken, the apartment where renovation work was being carried out was identified, followed by the man who had littered the area beneath the waste-container enclosure with rubble. The perpetrator was fined and removed the waste.

The behavior described above is unacceptable and punishable, so let us remember this when planning renovations. We also once again inform you that detailed information about waste collection, as well as the types of waste that we can deliver ourselves to the Selective Waste Collection Point at 6 Staszica Street in Bolesławiec, is provided by the Customer Service Office of the Municipal Utilities Management Company (tel. 75 734 62 71, extension 34).

Let us also remember that rubble and other renovation waste must never be thrown into a “regular” waste container, regardless of the quantity. They do not qualify as municipal waste.
