On 26 April, in Bolesławiec County, as throughout the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, traffic police officers carried out intensified preventive and inspection activities under the name “Speed”. Driving too fast is a frequent cause of various road accidents, which is why it is so important for drivers to observe the limits introduced on a given section of road.
During the operation, in addition to speed, the officers also checked drivers’ sobriety, the use of seat belts by people travelling in vehicles, and the way children were transported; children should travel in devices specially adapted for this purpose.
Across the voivodeship, more than 1,400 vehicles were inspected, and more than one thousand drivers exceeded the speed limit.
Yesterday, 60 vehicles were inspected in Bolesławiec County. A total of 45 violations were detected, including 35 related to exceeding the speed limit. A resident of Lubusz Voivodeship exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by more than 50 km/h and therefore lost his driving licence for three months.
The police appeal for safe and careful driving. Observing the regulations and adjusting speed to the prevailing road conditions means taking care of your own safety and that of other road users.
