Officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec detained a man suspected of threatening a social worker in order to force actions resulting in the payment of a benefit.
The 34-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec municipality had previously expressed his dissatisfaction to social welfare centre employees with decisions concerning the amount of social assistance.
Recently, the man appeared at the office with his cohabiting partner because he wanted her benefits to be paid out that same day. The 34-year-old was vulgar and aggressive and made threats against the employee.
Then, outside the social welfare centre, when the official was carrying out duties in the field, he again tried to influence his actions by making threats to take his life.
The suspect was detained and charged with influencing official activities by making unlawful threats. The perpetrator faces up to 3 years in prison.
