On Saturday (April 24) in the morning, in the area of Zagrodno Commune (Złotoryja County), traffic police officers stopped a passenger Ford. A 45-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was behind the wheel.

During their conversation with him, the police officers immediately smelled alcohol. A breathalyzer test confirmed the officers’ suspicions. The driver was intoxicated. The device indicated more than 0.9 per mille in his exhaled breath.

The man committed a traffic offense and must therefore expect criminal liability. His driving licence has already been confiscated, and proceedings will be conducted in his case. Under the applicable law, he faces up to two years in prison, a court-imposed driving ban and a substantial fine.
