Bolesławiec County was awarded 49 university scholarships worth PLN 200 per month each. Under the agreement signed, the list of students who received scholarships was determined by the Świdnica County Office after a substantive review of the applications. The 49th and final student to be awarded a scholarship had a monthly income of PLN 168.15; people with higher incomes were no longer eligible for a scholarship. The money will be transferred directly to the eligible students’ bank accounts for the period from November 2004 to June 2005.
Students at upper-secondary schools in the county who live outside Bolesławiec submitted a total of 620 applications. These were subject to a formal review by the teachers of the respective schools and verified by employees of the Education Department of the Bolesławiec County Office.
The County Board determined the final number of scholarship recipients, with 477 students on the list. Each will be able to receive PLN 100 per month as reimbursement of expenses incurred, from November 2004 to June 2005.
The costs incurred by a student in connection with attending school must be documented with receipts or invoices and monthly tickets. The 477th and final student to be awarded a scholarship had a monthly income of PLN 369.20; people with higher incomes were no longer eligible for a scholarship.
