All primary schools for which the Municipal Commune of Bolesławiec is the governing body joined the campaign. Among the winners were two students from Primary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec. Gabriela Wąsik received the main prize for her artwork in the “Time Machine” competition. Antoni Blatkiewicz received an honorable mention.
– The subject matter of the “Time Machine” competition was very broad. It allowed us to learn about the dreams, goals, fears, attitudes and emotions accompanying the competition participants. The works featured futuristic elements (space flights, discovering new civilizations, encounters with “aliens”), time travel (stories reminiscent of books by Stanisław Lem, encounters with dinosaurs), and the coronavirus pandemic (fears about the future, defeating the virus, returning to school), the competition organizers report.
On March 10, 2021, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman presented Gabriela Wąsik and Antoni Blatkiewicz with the awards sent by the Association of Radio Producers and Journalists. The ceremony was attended by the winners’ parents, Deputy Mayor Renata Szewczyk, Principal Irena Sikora-Kołodyńska, and school counselor Marzanna Janczak from Primary School No. 2, as well as Danuta Marecka, the mayor’s plenipotentiary for addictions.
The campaign’s main goals in 2020 included, among other things: educating students about self-knowledge and self-acceptance; developing the ability to recognize, name and disclose their thoughts, beliefs and feelings in relationships with other people; limiting risky behaviors (aggressive and self-destructive); educating parents and supporting them in developing parenting skills; and supporting the educational work of schools and educational institutions. As part of the “Keep a Sober Mind 2020” campaign, in addition to organizing competitions for students, 14 teachers from Bolesławiec completed an online course entitled “Cyberbullying and Cyberaddiction. Safe Online. How to Avoid Threats and Use the Internet Properly.” The teachers received certificates authorizing them to conduct prevention classes in the area covered by the training.
The campaign is organized by the Association of Radio Producers and Journalists.
