– Intensive operational work, numerous actions and findings produced the expected result. Officers from the Cybercrime Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław arrested a man who, using false personal details, was allegedly committing crimes – says junior warrant officer Przemysław Ratajczyk from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
One of his victims was certain that she was dealing with a cardiologist who also practiced aesthetic medicine. The fraudster ruthlessly exploited the Lower Silesian woman’s trust, depriving her of nearly PLN 270,000. The money was supposedly intended to build a shared home for the “lovers”.
Junior warrant officer P. Ratajczyk:
In addition, during their activities, police officers established that since at least 2015 the arrested man had been using several identities, which he used to conceal his criminal activities involving the appropriation of construction machinery and its subsequent resale.
The officers searched several apartments, garages and commercial premises, including an aesthetic beauty salon. They secured laptops, electronic data carriers, four mobile phones, six routers, several thousand zlotys in cash and several hundred pages of documentation. Spokesperson: – What is more, several identity documents bearing different details were found on the 51-year-old man, each featuring the arrested man’s photograph.
The man tried to conceal his true identity until the very end. Even during his arrest, he provided false details. However, using the available systems and equipment, experienced officers quickly established his identity. It then emerged that the 51-year-old was wanted under five arrest warrants and had an 11.5-year prison sentence to serve.
The court remanded him in custody for three months.
