10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, in cooperation with the Legion Military Honorary Blood Donors’ Club – Świętoszów Branch and supporting individuals, organized another “SpoKREWnieni służbą” blood donation drive in Świętoszów. Maj. Adam Koronkiewicz:

The Blood Donation Drive was organized according to the established format, with the participation of Distinguished Honorary Blood Donors, Honorary Blood Donors and Blood Donors who actively joined the drive and donated blood, including people from outside the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade. This made it possible to put into practice the Honorary Blood Donor’s Decalogue they follow.

Was it worthwhile to organize this drive? Major A. Koronkiewicz: “Yes, because it brought together people who donate blood selflessly and, above all, help save the lives of others in this way.”

Moreover, the drive commemorated the National Remembrance Day of the Cursed Soldiers, while also promoting the “SpoKREWnieni służbą” and “Drogocenna Krew” initiatives.

The 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade actively participates in blood donation drives. In 2020, the unit’s soldiers donated a total of 478.2 liters of blood. Major Adam Koronkiewicz: “Will we manage to improve this result? I think so—provided that everyone who can influence this becomes fully involved, joins future blood donation drives and helps implement the initiative among Distinguished Blood Donors, Honorary Blood Donors and Blood Donors, who are always united by one thing: ‘They always remember that their blood saves the lives of others’ and ‘They preserve the memory of those who once sacrificed their blood for us, so that we can now help others with dignity.’”

As a result of the drive:

  • Donated blood: 17 blood donors (2 incomplete donations).
  • Collected from donors: 6.95 liters of whole blood.
