The competition, organized in a new format with the participation of chess players from outside the unit, was held at the Military Club in Świętoszów. Soldiers:

Was it worthwhile to organize this competition? Yes, because it enabled everyone to integrate and develop their chess talents and passions. Above all, the sporting event commemorated the 13th anniversary of the death of the late Cpl. Hubert KOWALEWSKI (February 26, 2008), and the 14th anniversary of the death of the late Lt. Łukasz KUROWSKI (August 14, 2007), who sacrificed their lives while serving abroad with the Polish Military Contingent in Afghanistan. It also promoted World Military Sports Day (February 18).
