The program contains basic information on the properties of asbestos, its impact on people and the environment, as well as the quantities recorded in the area of the Urban Municipality of Bolesławiec. The document refers to the “National Asbestos Clean-up Program for 2009–2032,” adopted by Resolution No. 39/2010 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland dated 15 March 2010, whose aims are:
- removal and disposal of asbestos-containing products;
- minimization of the negative health effects caused by contact with asbestos fibers;
- elimination of the harmful impact of asbestos on the environment.
In Bolesławiec, 202 applications for funding were submitted in 2017–2020, for a total amount of PLN 176,956, resulting in the removal of 293.262 Mg of asbestos-containing waste. In total, from 2013 to 2020, 378.422 Mg of asbestos-containing waste was removed and disposed of from the area of the Urban Municipality of Bolesławiec, at a cost of PLN 215,922.86.
