The incident took place on Wednesday, February 24. Komenda Powiatowa Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Bolesławcu:
[...] at 10:44 p.m., a report of a basement fire in a semi-detached single-family house on Ignacego Paderewskiego Street in Bolesławiec was received by the Command Post of the District Fire Service Commander in Bolesławiec. Two minutes later, three units from JRG Bolesławiec arrived at the scene. It was determined that the boiler room in the basement was on fire.
Fortunately, the residents had left the building before the firefighters arrived. No one was injured. The officers added:
The firefighters' actions consisted of securing the area and deploying a fire hose line—through rescuers equipped with respiratory protection equipment—inside the building. There was heavy smoke inside the building.
After the fire was extinguished, the building was ventilated and inspected with a thermal imaging camera and a multi-gas detector.
The firefighters' operation lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes.
