On 11 February, officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation dismantled a methamphetamine production line located in one of the towns in Lwówek County. Two men were arrested at the time: a 32-year-old and a 24-year-old. Investigators:

A search of the property they occupied revealed a number of chemical substances and equipment adapted for the production of methamphetamine, as well as the finished drug.

The detainees were brought before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski, where they were charged with producing significant quantities of psychotropic substances for financial gain. On 13 February, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, the court ordered both suspects to be held in pre-trial detention for three months.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the criminal activity—the production and sale of methamphetamine—had been ongoing since September of last year. Both suspects could now face prison sentences of between three and as many as 15 years.
